December Daily- Day 18

Well I am officially getting exhausted from the Christmas season. I'm ready for it to be done :( Maybe it's because I know I don't have time off of work this year like I have had in the past, so there is not much relaxing time to enjoy the holiday to look forward to.

Day 18 was pretty uneventful. Another normal day, however one of my sweet coworkers gave my children chocolate reindeer heads as a small Christmas gift. Of course they had to be eaten that evening. The picture of them is not that great, but it shows how they certainly could not sit still before diving right into those reindeer.

December Daily- Day 17

Today's page came with inspiration from Cathy Zielske and her very simple clean style. I wanted to get a picture of our house with the Christmas lights on it. Each year we try to add something to the decorations so one day I would like to be able to look back.

Also, Rachel absolutely loves looking at the Christmas lights and the way she says it is so precious. I video'ed her on our way home so that I could capture the memory of it. There are so many things that Patrick used to say growing up that I don't remember, so I had to get this one documented.

December Daily- Day 16

I was listening to the Scrap Gals podcast during work today and they randomly mentioned they had seen a scrapbooker make an album just of their pets. It got me to thinking and I realized that this will be Blitz's first Christmas. He has been a wonderful addition to our family and we love him as much as he loves us. So in honor of his first Christmas, I decided to make the page about him. Now I did try to get a picture of him with a Santa hat on, however this one came out so much better.

December Daily- Day 15

Just a quick post today. Christmas cards are coming in very slow this year and I had planned on having a page documenting my Christmas card tree. However, this was before all of the prelit lights went out on my tree. Last year I had added one strand to the middle because those went out, and now this year as I finally received more Christmas cards, the rest of the lights went out! More words for the story I guess.

My page for December 15th took A LOT of inspiration from Ali Edwards.

December Daily- Days 12-14

Lots of pages to share today from the weekend happenings. I also took a lot of inspiration from Ali Edwards for these pages. I really enjoyed the journaling on the 13th. It made it so much easier to write and tell the story. Also on the 14th, I wrote the journaling as if it was a letter to each child describing their Santa visit.

December 12- I took the kids to go see the drive through Christmas lights at one of the public parks on the lake.

December 13- We decorated gingerbread houses with Grandmother. A two page spread since I wanted to get action shots and finished product pictures.

December 14- A visit from Santa Claus. Another two page spread with a 4x8 insert in between the pages to tell the story of the visit to each child.

December Daily- Day 11

There was no real story today, so I decided to document one of my favorite parts of Christmas. The stockings were inspired by my mother and aunt. My mother made us all stockings from the Bucilla felt kits shortly after we were born. I still have the one that she made for me all those years ago. I loved the sequins on these stockings and how they sparkled in the lights of the Christmas tree. So after Danny and I were married, I started on his and then mine. Then there was Patrick, and then there was Rachel. For about 4-5 years straight, I was always working on a stocking before/during Christmas. I absolutely LOVE these stockings. They describe each one of us so perfectly!

I also felt like re-doing the page from day 9. I really hope I don't have the urge to do this to many more pages. Here is my revised Day 9.

December Daily- Day 10

I feel like I am moving into a rut with my "filler" page sections. Trying to gather inspiration from others these past few days. For day 10 I tried journaling sideways along the stripes of the paper, but not sure if I love it. I may try to mute the colors of the stripes so it's not so bold. Maybe change the font to more of a handwriting look. Anyway, here is Day 10. We dropped off our toy for Toys for Tots tonight after waiting in a line for about 40 minutes. I hope that either this or the angel tree becomes one of our family traditions over the years. It is important to develop a want to Give in our children's hearts.
